UT is committed to offering a quality, affordable education for every member of the Volunteer family. More than half of our students graduate with little to no debt, and 90 percent of graduates have started their career or are in graduate programs 6 months after graduation.
Scholarships
Guided by our mission of making sure education is within reach, we are committed to investing in your student’s future with robust scholarships available. More than $80 million in financial aid was offered to incoming students last year.
One Stop Student Services
One Stop Student Services is the one-stop-shop for your questions about financial aid, enrollment, making payments academic records and more! Each incoming UT student has a designated One Stop Counselor to help students stay on track.
Center for Financial Wellness
The Center for Financial Wellness (CFW) helps students make smart financial decisions that impact their future goals. CFW coaches work directly students to help them understand loans, responsible borrowing, spending plans, budgeting and more!

Student Privacy
At UT, student information is handled in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), which is also referred to as the Buckley Amendment. FERPA sets forth guidelines for safeguarding the privacy of student educational records in regards to their access and release.
Students are notified of their FERPA rights and the procedures for limiting disclosure of directory information in the Hilltopics student handbook, at orientation for new students, and in annual emails from the university administration. Visit UT’s FERPA website for more information, which includes a tutorial, forms, and answers to frequently asked questions.
Educational Tax Benefits
Parents and UT students may be eligible for education-related tax benefits. The American Opportunity (Hope Credit extended) and the Lifetime Learning Credit are education credits you can subtract in full from federal income tax, not just deduct from taxable income. UT Employees and Families
The University of Tennessee offers many benefits to its employees and their families who wish to study at UT. Each year, our office teams with the chancellor’s office to host an event called Volunteer Value. We encourage you to attend and find out more about the opportunities available at UT.
